SEO basics for a new business website

The foundational SEO work every new business website should include before expecting search traffic.

Create pages for real search intent

SEO starts with understanding what people search when they need your service. A software agency might need pages around website development, custom software, SaaS development, MVP development, AI tools, and industry-specific solutions.

Do not create pages only to chase keywords. Create pages that answer a useful question or explain a service clearly enough to help a buyer decide.

Write unique titles and descriptions

Every important page should have a descriptive title and meta description. The title helps search engines and users understand the page. The description can influence whether someone clicks.

Keep them specific. A title like "Custom Software Development Agency" is more useful than "Services" because it says what the page is about.

Use crawlable links and clean structure

Search engines discover pages through links. Use normal anchor links for navigation, blog cards, service links, and related content. Avoid hiding important routes behind scripts that do not provide href attributes.

A sitemap and robots file help crawlers understand what can be indexed, but internal linking still matters.

Publish helpful content consistently

Blog posts, guides, case studies, and FAQs can all support SEO when they answer real questions. Thin posts rarely help. Useful content explains tradeoffs, examples, process, and next steps.

Content should connect back to relevant service pages so readers have a clear path from learning to taking action.

Build trust signals into the site

Search performance is not separate from user trust. Case studies, clear contact details, author information, structured data, accessible pages, and fast loading all support a better website.

SEO is strongest when the site is genuinely useful. The technical tags help; the substance carries the work.
